Falk: A Reminiscence

Falk: A Reminiscence

Description of book

This innovative fiction is a narrative of a young mariner who takes control of a ship in the far east when the prior captain dies. The ship has no provisions, the crew is frail and aloof, and there are delays in getting underway. The mariner befriends Hermann, the captain of the "Diana", a German ship that is moored nearby.

Falk: A Reminiscence is an insightful story, a modest and minimalist work with a uniquely immersed narrative style. Falk is one of the two works that are based on Conard's experience of his unexpected first command on the Otago, sailing from Bangkok. The other work is The Shadow-Line.
